News; January
2012; As we previously reported, 2011 has not been without its
problems especially with respect to staffing at Lufutuko School and for those who work so hard to see that the children have
food and a good education. We are delighted to report that school went back on 9 January and that all our grade 7 pupils
passed to go to grade 8, in spite off all the problems. We thank God for this and for your on going generous support.

A 120km north of the capital Lusaka lies the town of Kabwe. Kabwe has a population estimated at 210,000. Kabwe
was founded after the discovery of Lead and Zinc. On the eastern outskirts of the town of Kabwe lies the township of
Kawama.

Bana
Besu Feeding Project & Lufutuko Community School are situated in the township of Kawama which is
on the outskirts of Kabwe, Zambia. Kawama is a poor community lacking many amenities.
Eleven years ago three ladies from Kabwe started a small feeding project in attempt to
help the many orphaned and vulnerable children of Kawama. Bana Besu Feeding Project was born.
Bana Besu has
grown and currently feeds 120 children one nutritious meal a day, 5 days a week during term time.
Lufutuko school
started some time later and currently has approximately 250 pupils on its roll.
We have seven classes, grades 1 to 7, taught by four teachers and a school supervisor in two sittings a day.
The
project is a wonderful testimony to the faith and vision of those involved.
